Commissioners approve multiple transportation professional-service agreements tied to bond program

The court approved a series of professional-service agreements negotiated under RFQ 2026-06 to begin work on multiple transportation bond projects across the county.
Projects approved included the Central Bend/Mitchell Bend Highway Extension ($3,282,331), Pecan Plantation South access ($3,193,918), Misty Meadows extension (about $1,040,000), the Sprouts Creek connectivity project ($2,539,806), Loop 567 extension ($3,674,297), US 377 intersection improvements ($1,735,951), and Old Granbury Road (contracts discussed around a roughly $7.03 million total with a current 'not to exceed' figure noted at ~$6.27 million). County staff described negotiated scopes, NEPA and environmental-clearance tasks, and schedule expectations.
"We're ready to start working," an ITS project manager told the court. Commissioners expressed appreciation for the negotiations that reduced risk and enabled projects to move into design and early environmental work. Each contract was moved and approved with recorded unanimous votes on the consent or individual items.
The approvals permit staff to execute contracts and begin preliminary work on design, right-of-way coordination and NEPA/environmental tasks; funding is drawn from the county's approved bond program and related project budgets.
