Angie Soudon and other members reviewed a proposed calendar of cultural observances and suggested educational posts, displays and walking tours. Soudon noted the Americans with Disabilities Act anniversary (July 26, 1990) and suggested posts for International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples (Aug. 9) and Women’s Equality Day (Aug. 26). "I was looking at the ADA.org website, and they do have tons of information," Soudon said as an example of available federal resources.
Members also discussed partnering with the library and the Northborough Cultural Council to host speaker series, displays or walking tours and suggested inviting representatives to the next meeting to advise on event planning and volunteer recruitment. The committee agreed to assemble a calendar and to prepare sample social-media posts and library programming ideas for the August meeting.
