County staff flag $1.8M animal control replacement in capital plan

"We had discussion ... and then there's this looming 1,800,000 which is what we put in the capital improvement plan, the cost to replace it," administration said when summarizing the CIP. Staff discussed options including applying for federal/state infrastructure grants, bonding, or repurposing the existing building for storage if a new facility is built elsewhere.
Commissioners were told the service is crucial to the community and lacks straightforward alternatives; staff warned that, absent outside funding, the county must choose between bonding, saving across multiple years, or deferring and accepting rising emergency repair costs.
