Engineering Manager Gus Albarran recommended awarding the Bald Eagle Waterline Replacement Project (No. 260) to Altmeyer Construction for $835,378 and explained the project will replace about 2,600 feet of aging asphalt cement water main in the Cedar Ridge area with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. "The project would replace approximately 2,600 feet of aging asphalt cement (AC) water main located in the Cedar Ridge area with new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe," Mr. Albarran said.
Mr. Albarran reported five bids were received and confirmed the selected contractor had completed prior District projects; he recommended authorization for the General Manager to approve change orders up to 15% if needed. The Board approved the award; the project will be funded through the Water Capital Improvement Project Fund 110.
