District says PFAS treatment design submitted; construction could bring facilities online in ~18 months

At the May 26 meeting General Manager Ryan Gross updated the Board on the PFAS Removal Project. Gross said the District submitted final design revisions requested by the Division of Drinking Water and that the District anticipates finalizing its funding agreement within the next month.
Gross estimated that, once funding and procurement proceed, construction of the PFAS treatment improvements would make facilities operational in roughly 18 months. He framed the timeline as contingent on regulatory review and the funding agreement. Gross also described outreach measures for invasive mussel prevention, including posters at District facilities and materials distributed by the Arrowhead Lake Association.
