Committee adds pickleball notation for Yantis courts; tennis-court grant to be submitted in June

The Recreation Committee voted to approve amended minutes from March 17, 2026 that include a new notation: staff reported that the tennis courts at Yantis could be striped for both tennis and pickleball. John Mitchell moved to approve the minutes with the added notation and Ryan Westman seconded; the motion carried, 4 yes to 0 no.
Krista Gannon also told the committee staff plan to submit a grant application to Oregon Parks and Recreation in June for tennis-court improvements and that the city expected to learn award decisions in late summer or early fall. The committee did not take additional formal action on the tennis courts at the April 21 meeting; staff will proceed with the grant application and report results when available.
