Chief reports 333 calls in May; May 15 shooting involved two juveniles, victim expected to recover

Chief (S8) delivered the monthly public safety report: "Deputies responded to 333 calls during the month. A 195 of those were self initiated, including a 106 traffic stops," the Chief (S8) said. The chief also confirmed 12 minor traffic crashes in May and reviewed enforcement activity including an enhanced patrol on May 22 that produced more than 30 traffic stops.
On the May 15 shooting, Chief (S8) said the victim and suspect were known to each other, the victim is expected to make a full recovery, and the suspect later turned himself in. Councilors and residents thanked deputies for school presence and community outreach; deputies encouraged residents to report plate numbers and file vacation-watch requests online to assist investigations.
