General Manager Ryan Gross updated the Board on several capital and grant matters. He said the PFAS Treatment Project final design is complete and staff are addressing minor State Division of Drinking Water comments; the project is included in the State Revolving Fund Intended Use Plan and is being evaluated for possible 100% funding estimated at $18 million, with finalization anticipated by June.
Gross also reported the District’s Hazard Mitigation Plan grant application is under FEMA review. The District was awarded $782,000 for the Rimforest Water System Improvements Project to fund studies, CEQA review, easements, and design; a kickoff meeting is planned. Staff are preparing a cybersecurity grant application (up to $250,000 with a 30% match) to fund system and infrastructure upgrades; the application is due March 13. Gross noted that further discussion on Golden Mussel issues will occur at the upcoming ALA/LACSD Interface Committee meeting.
