Public Works/Zoning Director Casey Klug told the council the city has a pending Congressionally Directed Spending application to rehab and recoat its water towers. Klug recommended interim cleaning while the larger project awaits funding. Staff reported receiving an unsolicited cleaning quote around $15,000 per tower but did not recommend accepting the quote without soliciting multiple bids.
The council directed staff to solicit formal quotes; no contract or expenditure was approved at the meeting. Staff will return to council with formal bids and recommendations once received.
