Chelsea named an All‑America City for a second consecutive year

"Chelsea is being named an all American city for the 2nd year in a row," Matis said, calling the award "a reflection of the community that we are building every single day."
Governor Maura Healey presented an official citation on behalf of the Commonwealth, praising Chelsea’s civic partnerships and saying the recognition reflects residents, teachers, nonprofit partners and first responders. "This is a remarkable accomplishment," Healey said, adding that Chelsea’s mix of civic leaders, community organizations and families shows how neighborhoods can come together. The event included mentions of community programs, civic leaders and a banner to commemorate the 2026 recognition. The celebration closed with remarks from local elected officials about continuing the partnerships they said produced the award.
