Menifee City officials on stage for a ribbon-cutting ceremony unveiled the new Paloma Wash Pedestrian Bridge, a 172-foot-long, 14-foot-wide structure weighing roughly 298,000 pounds that city staff say will improve pedestrian and bicycle connections between Central Park and commercial areas along Hahn Road.
"This bridge is gonna bring us even more together," Mayor Ricky Estrada said, calling the project years in the making and an important link between the park, a potential future city hall site, grocery stores and other neighborhood amenities. Public Works and Engineering Director Nick Fidler said the bridge was fabricated in six pieces, transported from South Carolina and placed onsite with a large crane that took two days to assemble.
