Council holds first reading to rezone parcels on Far Hills and Shroyer for community-center uses
Summary
In a first reading, council considered rezoning at 3737/3750 Far Hills Avenue and 3775 Shroyer Road (PC26-010) from R-2 to CC and amending the pattern-district map; staff said the change supports implementation of the comprehensive land use plan and would facilitate reuse of the Barnes Building for a proposed Cohatch project.

The council heard a first reading of an ordinance to rezone two parcels on Far Hills Avenue and Shroyer Road from R-2 (neighborhood residence) to CC (community center) and to amend the official pattern district map (Planning Commission case PC26-010). Planning staff said the rezoning would align the properties with the city’s comprehensive land use plan and would expand allowable uses to enable additional on-site parking and support reuse of the Barnes Building for a proposed Cohatch project.
Because this was a first reading, no final action was taken and the item will return for future consideration; staff invited questions and offered to provide additional information at the conclusion of subsequent readings.
