Council flags county ambulance plan draft for review after proposed 15‑minute suburban standard

Greg said the draft also assumes first response will largely be provided by fire apparatus or quick-response units regardless of payment or funding mechanisms, and that the plan lacks detail on how dispatch triage changes would be implemented. "Under this draft, we're held to a 15 minute standard," he said, adding that he intends to keep the council informed and that Wood Village may use the draft as part of a record to argue for different coverage standards.
Councilors expressed concern about the proposed disparity in response standards and asked staff to review the draft and report back. The county plan is at an early stage; Wood Village staff said they will coordinate with nearby cities to evaluate potential impacts and participate in the county’s review process.
