Becky, a parks staff member, told commissioners the city hired four utility staff earlier in the year to join two existing crew members, which helped the public works crew clear vegetation maintenance backlog and repair utilities, including a 17-foot-deep water leak. “They've been doing a great job out in the park...They've caught up on a lot of the backlog on the vegetation maintenance,” Becky said.
Becky also said new signage — including 'pick up after your pet' and general rules signs — arrived and will be posted in the coming weeks to help remind park users of rules and improve stewardship. “We have our new pickup after your pet signs...They just came in,” she said, noting staff cannot force people to read them but will install them as a visible reminder.
