The Wood Village City Council approved Resolution 14-2026, which amends the Comcast franchise agreement to reflect the Mount Hood Cable Regulatory Commission’s dissolution and to adjust certain reporting requirements.
Staff explained the amendment replaces references to the MHRC with points of contact for member jurisdictions and reduces some reporting from quarterly to semiannual to lower administrative burden. Greg credited county legal staff for helping review the language and said the changes are intended to make compliance and reporting simpler for smaller jurisdictions.
Council approved the franchise amendment by voice vote. Staff will ensure Comcast and regional partners receive the updated contract language and that Metro East and Troutdale understand the compliance and PEG-reporting expectations under the new arrangements.
