District reports 2025 water deliveries fell 6.2% as groundwater production rose

The district reported several shifts in water sourcing and usage for calendar year 2025. Operations Manager Matt Brooks said total water delivered to the distribution system decreased by 6.2% compared to 2024, representing approximately 78 acre-feet less delivered. Lake withdrawals decreased by 15.8% year over year, totaling approximately 670 acre-feet (42.8% of the District's annual allotment), while groundwater well production rose by 27.1% compared to 2024. CLAWA water purchases were about 317 acre-feet compared to 329 acre-feet the prior year, and recycled water deliveries decreased by about 11% (roughly 23 acre-feet).
Brooks and staff attributed the reduction in delivered water partly to lower system water loss due to leak detection and repair work. The board received the operational statistics as part of the quarterly report; no action was taken.
