Funding for the project is a combination of sources: a $1,000,000 local government grant, a $2,000,000 state legislative allocation (with $500,000 of that dedicated to community center exterior improvements), approximately $39,000 from motor vehicle funds, $20,000 from Rotary, and other contributions. Staff estimated a construction window of roughly 120 days after contract execution and anticipated substantial completion in the fall, with some flexibility depending on site conditions. "The contract award before you tonight is to award the contract to 1st Cascade, Corp, in the amount of $2,055,469.32 with the contingency of $125,000," staff said.
Council approved the contract award by motion and authorized the City Manager to sign the agreement. Staff will return with contract documents and a schedule for construction and a public outreach plan for the park opening and related community events.
