Lake Arrowhead Community Services District staff credited rapid field response and prior I&I reduction work for preventing any sewage discharges during the heavy December storms. Operations Manager Matt Brooks told the board that USGS data showed "18.7 inches of rain received over 12 days, including 8.57 inches on Dec. 24," and that crews used a generator to maintain power when a breaker failed at the Grass Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Brooks reported that "about 35 million gallons of wastewater were received, 31 million gallons were processed, and the remainder was stored, with no discharge." Field Operations Manager Nathan Porter outlined repair work: exposed outfall piping was re-covered and roadway surfaces rebuilt; crews cleared culverts. Porter and staff described major leaks handled during 2025, including a 16,000-gallon leak in Rimforest, a 30,000-gallon leak on a steel cross-country line, a 216,000-gallon leak on a 2-inch steel line in the Village area that has been fully replaced, and a 44,000-gallon leak that went undetected for several days.
General Manager Catherine Cerri highlighted staff performance and said photographs in the packet documented exposed piping and repairs. She also reported coordination with the Arrowhead Lake Association on golden mussel prevention and said staff will schedule a meeting of the LACSD–ALA Interface Committee. No public comments were received on the response summary.
