Resident asks about background checks and praises Nutter Fort EMS

During the public-comment portion of the Sept. 10 meeting, resident Jennifer Robinson asked whether the town conducts background checks when hiring and whether drug testing is required. Mayor Sam Maxson replied that the town performs background checks and that post-accident and reasonable-suspicion drug testing is used. On whether somebody with a felony can work for the town, the mayor said it "depends on the position," noting some roles restrict candidates with felony convictions.
Robinson also offered praise for local emergency medical services, saying they "did a good job" caring for a family member. The council recorded the compliment and did not propose any immediate policy changes based on the public comment.
