Council reviewed proposed changes to Ordinance 777 (sections 777.09 and 777.11) during unfinished business but took no action on Aug. 13, asking staff to prepare draft language for further consideration.
Code Enforcement noted the town currently accepts prior HUD inspections in lieu of Town of Nutter Fort Code Enforcement inspections but recommended clarifying the acceptable age of a HUD inspection — specifically requesting that only HUD inspections conducted within the previous 30 days be accepted. Code Enforcement also recommended setting a 30‑day deadline for required repairs after notice of violation and updating cross‑references to incorporate the current West Virginia Property Maintenance Standards to supersede an older reference to section 1511.01. Drafts of revised language will be made available for the next meeting.
