Board approves multiple utility permits tied to ITC transmission-line rebuild and local pole replacements

County engineer Bridal Hrovsky presented a batch of utility permits that supervisors approved in a single action. The first three permits concern installation work for a new electric substation (Interstate Power and Light / Alliant Energy) adjacent to 200th Street; Hrovsky said most of that project’s work will be on the Scott County side. Additional permits authorize short segments of overhead-to-underground relocation by Eastern Iowa Light & Power (REC) at multiple addresses to clear the way for ITC’s planned transmission-line rebuild.
Hrovsky described the relocations as short runs — a few hundred feet in most cases — needed so ITC can proceed with the 349 kV rebuild. Supervisors had no objections and moved to approve the permits by voice vote.
