Supervisors approve $40,000 annual maintenance deal with Winona Controls for building automation systems

County development director Eric Furnace briefed supervisors on a proposed $40,000 maintenance agreement with Winona Controls for the county’s building automation systems (BAS). Furnace said the vendor provides quarterly on-site maintenance, remote support and that a recent software upgrade will allow observation and adjustment of multiple buildings from a single program, so the same fee will cover additional facilities without increasing the cost this year.
Supervisors asked whether all county systems are standardized on the platform and whether longer-term migration plans exist; Furnace and staff said not all systems have been converted and that standardization is something to monitor as future upgrades occur. A motion to authorize the chair to sign the Winona Controls agreement carried by voice vote.
