On succession planning, Member Williams asked whether elected offices have playbooks; Administrator Sorrell and others said documentation varies widely by office. Member Daley urged excluding elected officeholders from the county's succession‑planning scope to avoid mixing administration and politics.
The chair asked whether the committee would remove elected officeholders from the succession‑planning scope; "Seeing no opposition," the chair said and turned the revised scope back to administration for future updates. Woods noted some elected officials may request assistance for deputies or middle managers, and administration will provide services on request while leaving the elected‑office holder role out of the committee’s standard scope.
