The Peoria County Operations Committee voted unanimously July 28 to recommend retaining Gallagher Bassett as the county's third‑party administrator (TPA) for workers' compensation and liability claims, approving a five‑year contract after a competitive RFP process. Director Loftus told the committee four proposals were received and staff and the county broker evaluated claims management procedures, data reporting, cost and continuity before recommending the incumbent.
"We went out in April, issued a RFP, and received four proposals back," Director Loftus said, and later summarized the selection criteria and interviews that produced the recommendation. Chair called for a voice vote and recorded the motion as passing unanimously. The committee took no further amendments and entered the result into the county system.
