Peoria County care-and-treatment board reports $893,000 in agency allocations

Todd Baker, chair of the Peoria County care and treatment board, reported to the committee that the board approved funding allocations totaling $893,000 at its July meeting. "There was a motion and a 2nd to approve the following funding levels for these agencies: Best Buddies at 55,000, Camp Big Sky at 30,000, CWTC adult day treatment program at 52,000, CWTC job readiness program at 220,000, Easter Seals of South Central Illinois at 5,000, EPIC job placement at 222,000, EPIC community connections at 222,000, ISRA at 87,000 for a total of 893,000," Baker said.
Baker said the total is lower than in previous years and attributed part of the change to what he described as a normalization of PPRT receipts. He also thanked county administrators and board members for support and participation during recent meetings. The report covered grants and program-level funding for organizations that provide services to people with developmental disabilities and related workforce supports.
The committee treated the report as informational; no additional county action was taken at this meeting. Members asked Baker brief clarifying questions about the process and commended the board for seeking to preserve fund balance amid changing revenue patterns. The committee moved on after the presentation to the next informational items.
