Commissioners discussed budget constraints and the possibility that staffing decisions could be re-evaluated depending on other county funding pressures.
The motion to appoint Beloit at $23.03 per hour was made and seconded and approved on a roll-call vote. Staff said hiring at the deputy rate (rather than sergeant rate) will reduce salary cost while restoring service capacity for civil process and court-related duties.
