Commissioners discussed splitting larger routes such as Cedar Run into sections if needed to stretch available funds.
The motion to accept the highway administrator’s recommendation was made and seconded; the Clerk called the roll and recorded affirmative votes for the commissioners present. Staff cautioned that bid amounts reflected the low, non-fiber option and that some projects could be re-bid in sections if overruns occur.
Work described for the low-water crossings and widening efforts included installing larger pipe and forming concrete approaches to reduce future scour and improve road survivability in flood events. The commission’s action clears the way for contracting and scheduling with the awarded firms.
