The Board accepted the unaudited financial statements as of Aug. 31, 2024 by unanimous vote on Oct. 15. District Manager Chuck Adams presented the statements and said the District is opening a BankUnited Insured Cash Sweep (ICS) account to invest General Fund surplus funds.
Supervisor Michael Walsh raised whether SOLitude could be asked to compensate the District for poor performance under the prior algae-treatment contract. Adams said he would contact SOLitude and that he believes it is reasonable to hold them 50% responsible for shortcomings. The Board accepted the financial statements by motion (moved by Mr. Walsh, seconded by Ms. Vaughan, all in favor).
