Supervisors flag Pond 16 encroachment, approve bench placement and park maintenance follow-up

Board members reviewed multiple operations items during the Sept. 17 meeting. Supervisor Carol Vaughan said the front property and Paleo Park "look great" and requested installation of another bench; Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz will meet with her to determine placement.
Supervisor Michael Walsh reported that a residence adjacent to Pond 16 installed a pool and screen cage and, from the tee box, it appears construction is encroaching on the EDRA with significant bank damage. Staff agreed homeowners are responsible for damage and will monitor work; Mr. Adams will confirm when contractor A to Z will remove two trees hanging over houses. Staff also noted twice-annual mulching of the park will begin in October 2024 and that curbs and sidewalks by the front gate are HPCA responsibilities.
The board recorded that a temporary dam was constructed on Hole 11 to address an irrigation break. These operational follow-ups were discussed as ongoing staff actions rather than formal votes; staff will report progress at future meetings.
