At its Jan. 13 meeting the South Shore Town Board set 2026 compensation for elected and staff positions. The board approved a mayoral stipend of $78.00 per meeting and $68.00 per meeting for each council member; the Finance Officer rate was set at $20.00 per hour. Water and sewer superintendents were set at $175.00 per month each, and assistant maintenance and extra labor were set at $26.00 per hour.
The motion to adopt the salary schedule passed unanimously. Board members said they would revisit staffing and workload at the February meeting in light of maintenance needs identified at the community center and other town facilities.
