Castle View Hospital CEO says rural inpatient behavioral-health unit to open this fall

"We did replace our new MRI... and we'll have that completed by the end of August and plan to have an open house, ribbon cutting, and everything the 1st week of September," Holyoke said, adding the hospital plans to accept patients by mid-September. He described the project as an inpatient psychiatric unit characterized in the presentation as the first of its kind in rural Utah.
Holyoke also summarized Castle View's 2025 local impact figures: roughly $11,300,000 donated to the community, about $4,000,000 in local and state taxes, 423 employees and approximately $31,500,000 in payroll. He announced hires tied to the behavioral-health program, including psychiatric provider Tyler Patton and unit director Morgan West, who is returning to Carbon County from the University of Utah; Holyoke said a new urologist and physician assistant will begin in September.
Commissioners thanked Holyoke for the updates and encouraged continued community partnerships. The presentation was informational; no formal county action or funding request was recorded at the meeting.
