Perez accepted the recognition and told the commission, "I just wanted to thank the commission for recognizing my 13 years." Colleagues recounted her role in elections, onboarding and daily operations and said her kindness and behind-the-scenes support will be missed.
The commission did not take a policy action tied to the recognition; the item was ceremonial. The county said Perez's experience included assisting with elections and maintaining county records, and colleagues urged continuing the collaborative office culture she helped build.
