Committee member (unnamed) summarized the decision: "So the new number will be 458,000." Rodney, the county maintenance representative, told the court the water-reclamation project was the largest single-item estimate at about $565,000 and that the county uses roughly "2,000 gallons of runoff water every event" under certain barns.
The court agreed to budget roughly one-third of the stormwater estimate—about $170,000—as the county's maximum match while staff seeks grant funds to cover the balance. Commissioners discussed sequencing, sealed bidding requirements for construction, and the possibility of staging work over multiple years if grants do not materialize. The Chair said the reduced capital total allows the court to accomplish several immediate priorities while holding funds in reserve for the water project if grants fall short.
The court's action was procedural (budget adjustments); no construction contracts were awarded. Staff will return to the court with grant-application results and any recommended contract or bid actions.
