The Duchesne County Commission appointed seven members to the Hanna Water & Sewer Special Improvement District board under Resolution #26‑06 following consideration of 13 letters of interest.
Commissioners appointed Deb Evans, Ray Gines, Larry Martin, and Brent Crouch to serve until the next election in 2027, and Hal Giles, Spencer Turnbow, and Daniel Bowman to serve until 2029. Commissioner Jeff Chugg noted the strong interest from residents; some public concerns were raised during discussion. Misty Roberts asked whether board members were full‑time residents and registered voters in Duchesne County and said she had no trust in the current board; Deputy Attorney Grant Charles and Clerk‑Auditor Chelise Curtis responded that the district name was correct and that the candidates presented were qualified. Chelise Curtis also noted district funds were being held due to a lack of required reporting and that the district must contact her office when it hires a clerk.
Commissioner Chugg asked for a report on the board’s performance by the end of the year. The Commission’s motion to appoint the seven members passed unanimously.
