Select Board orders 911 coordinator to change ‘Schoolhouse Road’ to one word

The Townsend Select Board on March 10 approved a request to standardize the spelling of Schoolhouse Road as one word (Schoolhouse Road) after a resident submitted historical documentation. The motion directed the emergency 911 coordinator to update the address in the 911 database and to order a replacement street sign.
Chair introduced the request from Peter Mark Van Carlson and the town clerk on the line confirmed the prior correspondence. Helen Holt said, “I will inform the 911 database in Montpelier, and they will update all the systems,” and the board voted to instruct the 911 coordinator to make the change. The board also asked staff to order a new street sign.
