Town warns of temporary bridge on Valley Road; posts community event and collection dates

The Select Board briefed the public on several operational and community notices at the July 23 meeting. The minutes state: "Traffic will be diverted to the temporary bridge on Valley Road. Expect minor delays and travel disruptions. Please use caution and drive slowly. No Tractor Trailers." Residents were asked to plan for minor travel delays while the temporary bridge is in use.
The board also listed community calendar items: the Farmers Market runs from the weekend of Memorial Day (May 23) through Columbus Day on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Town Green at 7 Halfmoon Pond Road. A satellite household hazardous waste collection is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at 50 South Road (Public Works Garage) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; the minutes note that the collection is open to Washington residents and property owners only and that proof of Washington property ownership is required. The meeting notice also recorded upcoming meetings, including a Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting on July 29 and a Select Board meeting on July 30.
