The commission received 13 letters of interest. Commissioners approved appointing Deb Evans, Ray Gines, Larry Martin and Brent Crouch to serve until the next election in 2027, and Hal Giles, Spencer Turnbow and Daniel Bowman to serve until the election in 2029. Commissioner Jeff Chugg described the strong local interest and said expanding membership is allowed by the bylaws (five to eleven members).
During the discussion, resident Misty Roberts questioned whether the district name on the resolution was correct and said she had "no trust in the board members," alleging that bills were not being sent to customers. Clerk‑Auditor Chelise Curtis said all 13 applicants appeared qualified and later noted the district’s funding was being held because of missing reporting. Commissioners asked for a performance report on the district by the end of the year.
The commission’s appointments were approved by unanimous vote as Resolution #26-06; the county emphasized that when the district hires a clerk it should contact the Clerk‑Auditor’s office for administration and reporting requirements.
