Connie explained the town's relationship with NEMREC (contracted services) covers many tasks and stated, "We are not finding anybody who wants to take on a robust treasurer's position." Members discussed whether tax administration should remain with contracted services, how to structure duties to be legally compliant, and whether an appointed short‑term hire could be asked to take a reduced scope until town meeting. The board agreed to solicit prospects and tailor the role to candidate capacity; no appointment was made.
