Police Chief Ron Godwin told the council he met with Axon representatives about body cameras and said two or three funding sources exist for replacements; the vendor offered delayed payment options to allow immediate ordering. The department executed contracts for six body cameras with software and three tasers, with an option to purchase an additional three tasers.
EMT Frank Ferrari reported 71 emergency calls and 108 transports to date, including five ALS transports. The EMS team is working to designate unit 710 as a rapid response unit and reported the new billing system is performing well after renegotiated contracts.
