The Town of Nutter Fort council on Oct. 29 approved an ordinance to finance extensions and improvements to the town's public sewerage system through the issuance of sewer revenue bonds.
The ordinance authorizes up to $1,500,000 in original aggregate principal for Series 2024 A bonds and up to $2,500,000 for Series 2024 B bonds under the West Virginia State Revolving Fund program, including a forgivable component for Series 2024 B. Councilor Rick Lafferty moved to approve the ordinance; Councilor Charlene Louk seconded and the measure passed by unanimous vote.
The ordinance text in the meeting packet describes bond terms, security for registered owners, and authorizes execution of related documents and a bond purchase agreement. The transcript lists the proposal as Ordinance 2024-09 during the hearing and later records that “Ordinance 2024-07 passed”; the record therefore contains a numbering discrepancy that the council or clerk should clarify in the official minutes.
Council approved the measure during a short special meeting that opened at 6:31 p.m. and closed at 6:37 p.m.; the action begins formal authority to proceed toward closing and issuance subject to required documents and any external approvals of the SRF program.
