Council approves Oct. 26 Halloween/Fall Festival partnership

At the Aug. 27 meeting Council approved a request from James Vanscoy to partner with Cartoon Headquarters for a Halloween/Fall Festival on Oct. 26. The proposed street fair on PA Ave. from noon to 8 p.m. would include inflatables, food trucks, crafts, a beer garden and a radio station. The town agreed to provide electricity for inflatables and to supply minimal additional support, with vendors responsible for their own needs.
Councilor Karen Phillips moved to host the event and Councilor Rick Lafferty seconded; the motion passed by unanimous vote. Officials said some items purchased for the town’s 100th celebration could be reused for the festival. No specific town budget appropriation was recorded during the meeting.
