Greene County issues multiple proclamations honoring residents, months and community groups

Mayor Kevin C. Morrison read and entered several proclamations into the record at the June 15 meeting. Items included a previously issued proclamation designating Carmen C. Ricker Day (recognizing 38 years leading the Greeneville Greene County Community Ministries Food Bank and $425,000 raised for a planned 4,500 sq ft expansion), a proclamation celebrating Edna Waddell’s 96th birthday, and a proclamation marking Pastor David Wayne Fox’s 25 years at Eastside Baptist Church.
The meeting also included proclamations for June Dairy Month (the text cited 2023 USDA/NASS figures: 123 dairy farms in Tennessee and roughly 25,000 dairy cows producing an estimated 56 million gallons statewide annually), Tennessee Beef Month, Korean War Veterans Day (July 27), and a Month of Prayer & Fasting in July. Mayor Morrison presented the Dairy Month proclamation to Anna Parsons of the UT Extension Service, and presented other proclamations to community representatives including Jancie Painter (Gifts for Kids) and Commander Larry Henderson of VFW Post 1990. "I, Kevin C. Morrison, by the authority vested in me as Mayor of Greene County," the mayor read as part of the proclamations entered into the record.
