Downtown Committee hires director, eyes Dia de los Muertos event and PARC Tax-funded breezeway

Council Member Anne Moss told the board she will join the Downtown Committee as the group expands promotions and events. Tyler Jones announced Ronda Hair was hired as the committee's director and said the committee has begun meeting with the Payson Santaquin Area Chamber of Commerce to build promotion strategies.
The committee is pursuing a Dia de los Muertos fall event proposed by local restaurants and plans to dedicate PARC Tax grant money to a breezeway between the library and the trikes building. Brian Hulet said the Utah Film Commission donated a marker to recognize films and movies that have taken place in Payson. Staff did not present schedules or cost estimates for the breezeway project at the meeting.
Committee members discussed outreach and promotional materials; David Rowley from the Innovation Center is working on website and videography support for downtown promotions.
