Neighbors say Airbnb home is operating as wedding venue; council says staff is engaged

Wes and Alease Bott, homeowners adjacent to 195 E. 400 S., told the City Council their neighborhood has become “a party atmosphere late at night on a weekly basis” and asked the city to enforce code against what they described as an Airbnb operated as an illegal wedding venue. They reported blocked sidewalks, parking congestion, trash and late-night activity that concerns families in the area.
Robert Mills, representing city administration, said city staff have been in contact with the owners and are coordinating planning, police, and administrative review to determine what is and is not permitted in the single‑family residential zoning. Councilmembers said they wanted a timely solution so the neighborhood could “feel like a neighborhood again.”
