Council approves PARC Tax committee recommendations to fund local projects

The Payson City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 05-06-2026-D endorsing the Parks, Arts, Recreation & Culture (PARC) Tax Committee’s recommendations for funding local projects. Sarah Ogden presented the committee’s slate, noted that PARC funding derives from one cent per $10 in sales tax, and explained that requests were largely funded close to requested amounts and in line with previous years’ awards.
Mayor Wright and councilmembers thanked the PARC Tax Committee for their work. Councilmember Brian Hulet noted mini-grants target nonprofit organizations, while Karl Teemant clarified that startups are not eligible for PARC Tax mini grants.
