Payson City Council voted May 20 to approve an amended interlocal agreement with Utah County that allows completion of the Main Street breezeway and related parking-lot work. City Manager Dave Tuckett presented the contract amendment, which the county has approved, and Councilmember Ryan Rowley moved to approve Resolution 05-20-2026-A, giving the mayor authority to finalize the agreement.
Councilmember Bob Provstgaard asked whether the city had recourse against the contractor who applied a temporary paint logo on the pavement and requested a more permanent solution. The motion carried on a roll call vote with Anne Moss, Bob Provstgaard, Ryan Rowley and Lacee Smith voting yes; Brian Hulet was absent. The resolution authorizes the mayor to complete the county-administered contract amendment so city crews and contractors can finish the targeted Main Street improvements.
The decision clears the contractual path for finishing the breezeway and parking-lot segments described by city staff. No dollar amounts for the amendment were specified in the meeting record and the staff presentation did not include a projected completion date.
