Finance Director Denise Roy told the council the city's redesigned budget book was submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association for review. Assistant to the City Administrator Sierra Pierson was credited with updated graphics and an interactive table of contents that staff said makes the document more accessible to residents.
Council members complimented the new presentation and suggested portions of the budget-at-a-glance be repurposed for social media or resident mailings. Roy noted the book has been posted online and thanked staff for improving readability and navigation.
The submission to GFOA starts the external review process; staff will bring any feedback to the council when received.
