Ms. Stribling told the Board that the supervisors scheduled a public hearing to consider repealing Article 20 (the stormwater management fee) of Chapter 8 (Finance and Taxation) of the Fauquier County Code and said that the fee "has been imposed by Fauquier County since 2014 and has been used by the county for stormwater program fee and costs." She added that the county is "better able to fund the costs associated with administering the stormwater program through other sources of revenue."
The hearing provided an opportunity for residents to comment on that repeal as part of the consolidated budget and tax-rate hearing. No formal repeal vote occurred at the March 23 meeting; the issue remains on the board's agenda and any ordinance or code change would return for formal action at a later date.
