At the March 12 meeting 'Adam' (staff) presented a proposed text amendment to the county’s design standards manual (text 26-26129) to Chapter 2 on drainage and stormwater management. He told the board the local manual was currently more restrictive than state code and that the amendment would bring the manual into accordance with the state code, reduce staff time and remove unnecessary hurdles for small developments.
There were no public speakers during the public hearing. A supervisor moved to approve the resolution; the motion was seconded and the board approved the text amendment by voice vote. Supervisors in favor called the change "long overdue" and said it would be helpful for users and reduce government oversight burdens.
The amendment is intended to streamline county procedures and align local drainage requirements with the state’s regulations; staff offered to answer follow-up questions and none were raised during the hearing.
