Board adopts updated Fauquier County Solid Waste Management Plan required by state recycling rules

At the start of the public-hearing section on March 12, Bonnie (staff) presented the updated Fauquier County Solid Waste Management Plan and explained the update is required every five years by the Virginia Waste Management Board under 9 VAC 20-1-30 to demonstrate compliance with state recycling objectives.
There were no speakers during the public hearing. Supervisor Culbertson moved to approve the resolution to adopt the updated plan, the motion was seconded and the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
Bonnie said staff prepared the mandated revisions to align the county’s plan with state requirements and welcomed any questions; none were raised during the hearing. The adoption completes the county’s periodic compliance update under state regulation.
